A printed glyph worn on the wrist like a watch face, with floating AR panels of live stock quotes, a price chart and a green data display around it.

MagicWatch is an augmented reality experiment in connecting what you're looking at to what a database knows about it. The app works out its context, then runs live queries and presents the results graphically in the space around you, including streaming media into a virtual display.

A four-step flow: a context cue such as a printed Context Glyph, the app working out its context on an ordinary phone or tablet, a live database query, and results shown as graphics and streaming media around you.
MagicWatch connects what the camera sees to what a database knows about it.

In the demo, context comes from special "Context Glyphs": simple printed markers, one of them worn like a watch face. The design doesn't depend on glyphs, though. It's meant to take context from a variety of cues.

It runs on ordinary Android and iOS phones and tablets, with no special sensors.

This was a proof of concept. We left the tracking hiccups in the edit on purpose, so the video shows what the device actually saw.
